Overview

Outdoor Space You Will Actually Use

A good patio is level where you want to sit, falls gently away from the house and joins the garden without awkward steps or edges. We plan the size, levels and layout with you before a slab is cut.

We lay porcelain, Indian sandstone and other natural stone, and we build the steps, paths and retaining walls that often go with a new patio so the whole garden is finished in one job.

Frequently Asked Questions

Patio Paving Questions

Porcelain or Indian sandstone: which is better?

Porcelain is uniform, very low maintenance and resists staining. Indian sandstone has natural colour variation and a traditional look, and needs a little more care. We bring samples of both.

How much does a new patio cost?

It depends on the size, the paving you choose and how much groundwork and walling is needed. We give you a written, itemised quote after a free visit.

Do you lay patios on a full mortar bed?

Yes. Slabs are laid on a full bed of mortar over a compacted base, which stops them rocking and cracking.

Can you design the patio for me?

Yes. We plan the layout, materials and colours with you on site before we quote, so you know exactly what you are getting.

Do you build steps and walls as well?

Yes. Steps, raised beds, retaining walls and paths are often part of a patio project, and we build them as part of the same job.
